CALGARY, Alta. – Hockey Canada and the Canadian Hockey League (CHL) announced on Friday that forward Brayden Schenn (Saskatoon, Sask./Brandon, WHL) has been added to the roster for Canada’s National Junior Team selection camp. Earlier in the day, Schenn was returned to Brandon by the NHL’s Los Angeles Kings after opening the season with the NHL club.

Schenn played for Canada at the 2010 IIHF World Junior Championship in Saskatchewan, winning a silver medal. Schenn joins defencemen Jared Cowen (Allan, Sask./Spokane, WHL), Calvin de Haan (Carp, Ont./Oshawa, OHL) and Ryan Ellis (Freelton, Ont./Windsor, OHL) as the only four players from that team at this year’s selection camp.

The selection camp roster now includes a total of 40 players, including four goaltenders, 12 defencemen and 24 forwards.

Hockey Canada can still add additional players prior to the opening of the selection camp on December 11, in the event that NHL teams loan Canada’s National Junior Team junior-aged eligible players currently playing in the NHL.
