VANCOUVER, B.C. – Canada’s National Sledge Team concluded the preliminary round of the 2010 Paralympic Winter Games with a 5-0 win over Norway on Tuesday night at UBC Thunderbird Arena.

It was Canada’s third-straight victory and the third-consecutive sellout for Canadian sledge games at the Paralympics. Billy Bridges (Summerside, P.E.I) started the scoring for Canada just 31 seconds into the game. Greg Westlake (Oakville, Ont.) made it 2-0 when he finished a great play started by Brad Bowden (Orton, Ont.).

Bowden scored 11 seconds into the second and Westlake added his second of the game later in the frame to make it 4-0. Adam Dixon (Midland, Ont.) scored 11 minutes into the second and Canada carried a five-goal lead into the third period, which was scoreless. Paul Rosen (Thornhill, Ont.) made eight saves for his second shutout of the Paralympics.

Canada will face Japan in the first of two semifinals on Thursday at noon PT/3 p.m. ET, a game that will be shown live on Sportsnet. The other semifinal will feature Norway and the United States.

The winners of the semifinals will meet for gold on Saturday at noon PT/3 p.m. ET. The gold medal game will be shown live on CTV. The two semifinal losers will play for bronze on Friday night.
