STEINBACH, Man. – After winning their semifinals on Friday, the Bentley Generals and South East Prairie Thunder will meet for the 101st Allan Cup, Canada’s National Senior Championship, on Saturday at the TG Smith Centre in Steinbach.

The championship game can be seen live on TSN2 beginning at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT. It can also be seen on tape delay on the main TSN network at midnight ET/9 p.m. PT. Check your local listings for broadcast times in your area.

The Generals advanced to the championship game for the second year in a row, scoring the game’s first eight goals en route to a lopsided 8-1 win over the Thunder Bay Twins. Kent Beagle and Don Morrison scored two goals apiece for the Generals, who outshot the Twins 49-30.

Kevin Vandewater, Ryan Smith and Matt Ulwelling all had a goal and an assist as the Prairie Thunder advanced to their first-ever championship game with a 4-2 win over the host Steinbach North Stars. South East is the first Manitoba team to play for the Allan Cup since Île-des-Chenes won the national championship in 2003.

The Allan Cup is one of the oldest club-team hockey competitions in North America, having been first competed for in 1908. Only once in the past 102 years, in 1945, has an Allan Cup champion not been crowned.
