Wickenheiser Among Finalists for Sportswoman of The Year

Hayley Wickenheiser, the all-time leader in goals, assists and points for the National Women’s Team, has been named a finalist for the 2008 Sportswoman of the Year Awards by the Women’s Sports Foundation. The awards will be presented at the Annual Salute to Women in Sports Awards Dinner, scheduled for October 14 at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City.

Wickenheiser and the other finalists were considered for the 2008 award based on their athletic achievements. Among the criteria are championships and individual awards won, and records set.

Fans can vote for Wickenheiser through September 2, the final day of voting. The Women’s Sports Foundation recognizes an individual and team Sportswoman each year.
