2013 National Women's Under-18 Championship
Rebecca Leslie scored the game-winning goal in overtime for Ontario Red, Alyson Matteau played strong defence to help Quebec stage a comeback and Alysha Burriss scored two of Ontario Blue’s three goals, earning them Saturday’s NWU18 Media Stars of the day honours.
Manitoba’s veterans, including Stephanie Grossi and Lauryn Keen, lead their team’s younger players both on and off the ice at the National Women’s U18 Championship, and look forward to the future of female hockey in their province.
They may be from four different provinces, but when they came together for the 2013 National Women’s U18 Championship in Calgary, Team Atlantic pride, passion and trust was evident in everything they did, on and off ice.
Amy and Sarah Potomak may have a bit of an advantage that could help British Columbia this week at under-18 nationals, as the sisters have been playing together since they first stepped onto the ice.

Alyssa Erickson and Emily Costales both had a goal and an assist, while Valencia Yordanov earned the shut out, to help British Columbia shut out Saskatchewan 5-0 on Saturday, good enough for seventh place at U18 nationals in Calgary. 
Stephanie Grossi had a goal and an assist, while Lauryn Keen also scored, to help give Manitoba a 2-0 win over Team Atlantic on Saturday afternoon, and a fifth place finish at the 2013 National Women’s Under-18 Championship in Calgary, Alta.
Alexandra Poznikoff scored two regulation goals – and the shootout game-winner – to help lead Alberta to a 5-4 win over Saskatchewan, and earn a spot in semifinals Saturday, during another absolutely crowd thrilling game Friday night in Calgary.
Victoria Bach, Mackenzie MacNeil and Amanda Pantaleo all scored in the second period to help Ontario Red stage a comeback and beat Manitoba 3-2 in preliminary action Friday at the 2013 National Women’s Under-18 Championship in Calgary, Alta.
Valérie Audet and Ève-Audrey Picard both put two goals up on the scoreboard to help boost Quebec to a 6-4 win over Ontario Blue, for their province’s second victory of the week, Friday afternoon at the 2013 National Women’s Under-18 Championship in Calgary.

Brette Pettet scored two goals, while Jennifer MacAskill had three helpers, to help Team Atlantic to its first in at the 2013 National Women’s Under-18 Championship, an exciting 4-3 victory over British Columbia on Friday morning in Calgary, Alta.
Valérie Audet and Kimberly Vigneault scored in the second, while Stéphanie Lalancette and Claudia Philion added goals in the third, to help Quebec stage a comeback and beat Team Atlantic 4-2, giving their team its first win – at three points – at U18 nationals in Calgary.
Lauryn Keen had a natural hat trick, while Stephanie Grossi also scored, to help Manitoba earn a 4-2 win over Saskatchewan, and the province’s first three points in the standings, in 2013 National Women’s Under-18 Championship action Thursday afternoon in Calgary, Alta.
Lauren Lefler, Kirsten Miller and Shelby Perry all scored, while Shea Tiley had an exceptional game in the crease, to help Ontario Blue beat British Columbia 3-1, and earn its second win of the tournament, Thursday evening at the 2013 National Women’s Under-18 Championship in Calgary.
Kennedy Ganser wowed the crowd with her shootout game-winning goal, and Carissa Fischer was outstanding between the posts in front of the home province crowd, in Alberta’s exciting, edge-of-the-seat 1-0 win over seven-time champions Ontario Red in Thursday night’s feature game at U18 nationals in Calgary.
