2005-Jan National Women's Under-18 Championship

More than 80 girls gathered for the first selection camp held during the summer of 2003. They came from all over Quebec. Following an evaluation activity, a first competition was held in Matane in January 2004 where the team won the tournament against other Quebec college teams.

Several other team activities were held and the final selection was made in November 2004 during an open class tournament in St-Jerome. The Under 18 team lost the final in overtime to the Avalanches of the National Women’s Hockey League. The team performed very well against teams from Ontario and the United States.

A final activity was held on the campus of Fort St-Jean in December. Team Quebec took the time to develop its team spirit while making final adjustments on the ice. During this activity, the girls were able to play against Caroline Ouellette and Charline Labonté of the national senior team who had decided to contribute to the preparation of Team Quebec. Also present were prospects of the national team Sabrina Harbec and Kathy Chartrand. It was quite an experience.

Team Quebec now heads to Salmon Arm with the firm intention of working hard as a team in order to obtain the best results possible.
