CALGARY, Alta. – Austin Holmes scored twice, Kade Jensen grabbed three assists and Aidan Keane netted the game-winner as Edge School – Gold defeated the Swiss International Sports & Education Center by a score of 5-2 in Varsity Division play at the World Sport School Challenge on Sunday.

Despite being outshot 10-9 in the opening period, Edge – Gold jumped out to a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes. Holmes opened the scoring with a power-play marker 7:34 into the frame and Hayden Ursulak and Keane scored 27 seconds apart to round out the scoring in the first period.

Edge – Gold came right back in the third period as Colton Buckler netted an insurance-goal with 7:04 left and Holmes added his second goal of the game late in the period to seal the 5-2 victory for Edge – Gold.

After finishing the preliminary portion of the WSSC with a 2-1 record, Edge – Gold will have to wait until after Rothesay Netherwood School takes on the Okanagan Hockey Academy later in Day 3 before they will know wither or not they will head straight to the semi-finals or play in the quarter-finals on Monday as they will need Rothesay to win by a wide-margin to have a shot at the semi-finals. SISEC, who finishes with a 1-2 record, will know their quarter-finals opponent by the end of Sunday.
