Nicholas Schilkey and captain Vince Hinostroza scored two goals apiece as the Americans opened up a five-goal lead in the first period and held off a Swiss push in the third to advance to Sunday’s gold medal game.

Jonah Imoo made 17 saves for the shutout and Seb Lloyd scored the game’s only goal early in the second period as Canada West advanced to the gold medal game on Sunday night by blanking its eastern rivals.

Austin Plevy scored the “winner” with 2:42 remaining and Ryan Berlin added insurance to give West an 8-6 aggregate victory and the President’s Cup despite a loss to East in the second CJHL Prospects Game.

CJHL PROSPECTS | SAT. NOV. 10

Sean MacTavish scored twice and Dante Hahn added a goal and two assists as West drew first blood in the two-game, total-goal CJHL Prospects Games with a win in Digby, N.S., taking a five-goal advantage into Sunday.
