2001 RBC Cup

Arenas, Banquet Halls, Hospital etc...

Flin Flon is blessed with a multitude of facilities necessary to host a hockey tournament of this magnitude - all within a few minutes walking distance of each other - including the Whitney Forum (hockey & curling complex), Flin Flon General Hospital, and the Flin Flon Community Center.

WHITNEY FORUM (Hockey Rink)
The Whitney Forum is the home of the Flin Flon Bombers. The hockey rink was constructed in 1960 and is generally considered an excellent facility. As part of an ongoing program to upgrade the facility the City of Flin Flon has expended $490,000.00 to expand the Bomber dressing room, add two dressing rooms and renovate the 4 existing dressing rooms into 2 larger rooms. This major improvement is now in place and will be available during the 2001 Royal Bank Cup.

WHITNEY FORUM (Curling Rink)
Attached to the Whitney Forum is the Flin Flon Curling Club. The curling rink will be ideal for a VIP lounge and a refreshment /entertainment center. The "special events" sub-committee is already making plans for "The Penalty Box" or other appropriate facilitations.

MEDICAL SERVICES
Adjacent to the Whitney Forum is the Flin Flon General Hospital. The Flin Flon General Hospital is a fully modern facility that services the needs of Flin Flon and its surrounding communities. The host committee will arrange for having a qualified physician and ambulance service on site for all games during the Royal Bank Cup.

FLIN FLON COMMUNITY HALL
Within a five minute walk of the Whitney Forum is the Flin Flon Community Hall. This multipurpose facility has all the amenities to host the Friday night tournament banquet.
