World Girls Hockey Weekend

Help Celebrate World Girls' Hockey Weekend

What: World Girls' Hockey Weekend
When: October 9-11, 2015
Where: Canada - coast to coast to coast

The International Ice Hockey Federation and Hockey Canada have teamed up for the fifth annual World Girls' Hockey Weekend, which aims to celebrate the female game, unite Canadians in growing women’s hockey, and provide grassroots programming from coast to coast that allows girls and women of all ages to discover the sport, grow their skills and enjoy everything lacing up skates and stepping onto the ice has to offer.

We greatly encourage everyone to participate, either as a player, volunteer or supporter. Female hockey has grown exponentially in the last 25 years, so let’s keep the momentum going!

Whether you’re a veteran hockey player, an enthusiastic beginner, an inspired parent, or simply want to improve your skills or share your experiences, this year’s World Girls' Hockey Weekend will have opportunities for everyone to get involved in the great Canadian game!

The jerseys said one game, one country. And for one day, more than 2,000 players from coast to coast to coast became one team. The Long Game, including 98 teams playing 49 games across Canada, highlighted World Girls’ Hockey Weekend.
As part of the third World Girls' Hockey Weekend celebrations, Hockey Canada is hosting the first-ever Long Game , which will feature four continuous games ranging from Atom to Midget and running from the east coast to the west coast.
Find out how communities across the country helped celebrate the second annual World Girls’ Hockey Weekend, held Oct. 13 and 14, 2012, in partnership with the International Ice Hockey Federation and Hockey Canada.
From moms to daughters, coaches to volunteers, and fans in the stands to players on the ice, World Girls’ Hockey Day is a fantastic opportunity for everyone involved to celebrate the everything great about the female game.
