After skating to a 2-2 tie on Wednesday, Canada and USA renewed acquaintances on Thursday at the Sportplexe 4 Glaces in Pierrefonds, QC in Women's Under-22 hockey action.
After a scoreless first period, USA took the lead with two goals in the space of three minutes. U.S. Olympian and silver medalist Natalie Darwitz cashed in on a two-on-one rush at 4:56, and then Kelly Stephens scored a powerplay goal at 6:58 as Canada ran into penalty trouble for a stretch in the second frame.
No scoring in the third with goaltender Brittony Chartier (Saskatoon, SK) holding strong but Canada's offense failing to beat Jody Horak or the U.S. defense. Final game goes on Saturday, August 23rd at the Sportplexe 4 Glaces in Pierrefonds, Qc at 1 pm (ET).
