CANADA DROPS QUARTER FINAL GAME VERSUS USA IN OT

Canada was defeated 4-3 in overtime on Thursday, May 10th against the USA at the 2001 IIHF World Hockey Championship. Darby Hendrickson scored at 0:32 of the overtime period to send the US into the semi final against Finland. Patrick Marleau, Rem Murray and Brad Stuart scored for Canada.

GOALTENDER DAN CLOUTIER ADDED TO TEAM CANADA

Assistant Executive Director Lanny McDonald and Director of Player Personnel Steve Tambellini announced that goaltender Dan Cloutier of the Vancouver Canucks has been added to Team Canada for the 2001 IIHF World Hockey Championship. Cloutier was added after Roberto Luongo was injured in Canada’s 6-2 victory over Switzerland on Friday, May 4th. » more
