INTERNATIONAL SLEDGE HOCKEY EVENT IN COLORADO
CANADA OPENS COLORADO EVENT WITH 3-0 WIN OVER USA

Canada’s Sledge Hockey Team is in Colorado this week for its final international games prior to the 2006 Paralympic Winter Games in March, in Turin, Italy. Canada started off the three-country event with an impressive 3-0 win over the USA on Thursday at the World Arena in Colorado Springs.

After a scoreless first period, Brad Bowden opened the score for Canada, on a power play, at 7:04 of the second frame. Billy Bridges added a second goal at 12:53 and Canada had a 2-0 lead through forty minutes of action.

Bridges added an insurance marker in the third period, and Canada opened the event with a 3-0 win over the defending Paralympic champions from the U.S. Canada faces Germany on February 10th.
