Arvada, Colorado  – Canada’s National Men’s Sledge Hockey Team won their first game today against USA at the 2005 USA Sledge Hockey World Cup which takes place April 12 to 15th, 2005. 

After two periods of play the game was held scoreless until the 9:59 mark of the third period where Team Canada’s top scorer Billy Bridges tipped the lose puck into the net. He then followed with his second goal of the night at the 6:29 mark. Team USA scored their first goal at 5:48. Team Canada replied and securing the win with a goal from Dany Verner with 4:23 remaining to play in the game.

Team Canada will face Norway for the first time since the 2004 World Championship in Sweden at 10 am MT. They will then play USA for a second time at 7 pm MT. Both games taking place at the Apex Centre in Arvada, Colorado.
