Zurich, Switzerland - The gold medal final in the1992 Albertville Olympics was the last time Dave King was behind the bench as Head Coach with Team Canada, and tonight he lead the Men's National Team to a 2-1 victory over the host, the Swiss National Team in Zurich. Team Canada comprised of six Canadians playing in the German DEL and 15 Canadians from the Swiss professional league silenced a crowd of over 9,000 Swiss fans shutting out the home side for 59 minutes and 48 seconds. With former Toronto Maple Leaf draft pick Brandon Convery serving a 5 minute major, the Swiss final beat goalie Ian Gordon with a screened shot from the point with the goalie pulled for a 6 on 4 advantage to pull withîn one and spoil Gordons shutout bid.

Hnat Domenichelli lead Team Canada assisting on the first Canadian goal beforea spectacular individual effort on the eventual game winner. Domenichelli wasnamed Canada's Player-of-the-Game, but goaltender Ian Gordon and former NHLerJeff Shantz were both standouts in the victory as well.

Coach Dave King, the support staff, and 3 players, Ian Gordon- G, Frederic Chabot- G and forward Hnat Domenichelli will depart Wednesday for the Deutchland Cup.The players and staff will be joined by 19 other Canadian born players for anexhibition game vs. the German National Team Wednesday in Cologne prior to thestart of the Deutschland Cup in Hanover, Friday.

King will be joined by longtime NHL coach Pierre Page and Clement Jodoin as thecoaching staff for Team Canada at the Deutschland Cup.
