Women’s Hockey “the fastest growing sport in North America” and PEI’s program is an example of that, with
the increasing growth in the minor system, recreation level and now with five senior competitive teams across
the Island. The competitive league has hired their own reporter/statistician ( Pat Healey ) which has
brought exposure to female hockey and interest within the communities regarding the sport.

The Provincial team is comprised of players from the midget league as well as the competitive
league.Veteran players leading the way for PEI will be Brenda Hemphill, Marion Clark, Robyn MacDonald , M.J.
Webster , Ambyr Gallant , Kara Sabean, Rachel Arsenault , Anne Shaw and Tracy Knowles . Between the
pipes you’ll see Amy (Peakes) Handrahan along with Ashley Brennan. Rookies are Mary MacKinnon, Danielle
Boyce, Kate Gaudet, Genna Phelan, Pam LeClair, Nadine Wagner, Kayla Coady ,Tessa Roche , Jennifer Sullivan ,
and Kristen Clements . This group of hockey’s players are pampered by Steve
