The Battle for East Coast Pride between Nova Scotia and New Brunswick turned in to high scoring game and wasn’t decided until the last minutes. Tarra Miller opened the scoring for Nova Scotia just over 3 minutes into the 1st period unassisted. New Brunswick answered right back with a goal by Nathalie Pellerin 14 seconds later. The game continued back and forth and at the 8:50 second mark, Nova Scotia jumped out to a 2-1 lead on a goal from Melissa Welton with the helper going to Katie MacLeod. The final goal of the period was scored by New Brunswicks Stephanie Roy with the assist going to Sara O’Toole. The score after 1 period 2-2.

The second period saw Ashley Duguay open the scoring for New Brunswick a couple of minutes in which was countered by 15 year old Katlylin Morton of Nova Scotia to knot the game at three,  six minutes in. New Brunswick answered back with 2 goals to finish the period from Chelsea Gilbert and headed into the 3rd period with a 5-3 lead.

Showing no signs of backing down and taking advantage of some New Brunswick penalties, Nova Scotia scored twice in the 3rd to tie the game at 5. Scorers were Tara Dunn and Ellen Wright. Looking like the game may head to overtime, New Brunswick kept the players out of the penalty box and at 17:06 Robin Thompson scored the winner unassisted. 30 seconds later Stephanie Roy scored her 2nd of the game and finally into an empty net Sarah Sollows scored to make the final 8-5 for New Brunswick. It was a very exciting game back and forth with lots of great plays from both teams. Player of The Game for New Brunswick was Chelsea Gilbert and for Nova Scotia it was Tara Dunn.
