BOEING’S THREE POINTS PACE SHATTUCK TO 6-3 WIN OVER EDGE

CALGARY, Alta. – Brett Boeing scored one goal and added two assists and Anthony Petrella scored the game-winner as six different goal scorers paced unbeaten Shattuck-St. Mary’s to a 6-3 win over Edge School in a Prep Division showdown at the World Sport School Challenge on Saturday.

Chase Phelps banged home a rebound to give Shattuck a 1-0 lead just 21 seconds into the game; however, exactly two minutes later Edge would counter on a power-play marker from Matt McNair to even the score at 1-1. Later in the period Truman Reed and Alex Rodriguez added power-play goals of their own for Shattuck, giving them a 4-1 lead after 20 minutes.

Petrella added to the Shattuck lead 2:41 into the middle stanza before the two teams traded goals as Jeremy McNeil replied for Edge and Boeing scored for Shattuck, giving them a 5-2 lead after two periods.

Shattuck needed just over a minute to add to the lead in the third period as Max Becker put the puck past Edge goaltender Ty Robinson, who made 35 saves in goal. McNeil would score his second of the game with 7:06 remaining to make it a 6-3, but that was as close as Edge would come as Shattuck improved to 2-0 at the tournament.

The trio of McNeil, McNair and Logan Franz played well for Edge in a losing effort, combining for eight points on the evening.

Shattuck looks to finish the preliminary portion of the WSSC undefeated as they face-off against 0-2 Germany on Sunday. Later in the day, Edge School goes to battle with Okanagan Hockey School in a battle of 1-1 teams to cap off Prep Division play on Day 3.
