With the Don Mills Flyers looking to secure their spot in the semi-finals, they took on the tournament favourite Saskatoon Contacts, and got off to a fast start.  After three quick shots in the first 60 seconds followed by Ben Gazdic firing a slap shot past Travis Yonkman at 1:10 for a 1-0 lead.  The Contacts responded strong, and were rewarded with a goal by Dustin Cameron on the power play at 7:45.  Both teams traded chances through the middle part of the first period and both goaltenders made good stops to keep the score 1-1.  David Richard to a cross ice pass for Cody Danberg at 13:25 and drove to the net, with the puck apparently crossing the line.  The referees conferred and ruled it a goal, giving Saskatoon a 2-1 lead.  The Contacts thought they had another one on a pretty 2-on-1 play, but Brady Wacker negated it when he got called for interference behind the play.

The Second period was all Contacts, as they started by killing of a five minute spearing penalty to Scott Zurevinski and controlled the play from there.  Kyle Bortis tucked home a rebound from Russell Goodman’s shot for a 3-1 lead at 4:08.  They added to their lead quickly, when Cameron dug the puck out of the corner, took it to the net and put in his own rebound 40 seconds later for a 4-1 Contacts lead.  The Contacts continued to own the play and Richard finished off a nice passing play from Bortis and Danberg by going upstairs on Philip Skeels putting Saskatoon up 5-1 at 17:49.

The third period was still controlled by the Contacts, but it quickly degraded into a penalty filled period, with both teams trying to send a message for their match-up in the semi-final tomorrow.  Both teams combined for 128 minutes in penalties in the third.  The Contacts added goals by Riley Clark and Luke Schenn to make it 7-1.  Don Mills got their second of the game late from Ryan Dawe to make it 7-2.  The Player of the Game for Don Mills was Brent Tamane and for Saskatoon, Kyle Bortis (1 Goal, 4 Assists).
